What has happened?

It is literally hard to express what has happened exactly for both side. However, that article aims to analyze the situation for both side as possible.

Palestine and Israel has a conflict for a long time. On one side; Israel aims to capture “the promised lands” as their own speech, and on the other hand Palestine aims to survive, protect their landings and try to capture Jerusalem totally. Both side aims their goals for religious purpose.

To summarize a bit, on 7th october Hamas started an attack to Israel. It started with some gunmen rushed into the Israel from border to a musical festival. Moreover, many more gunmen started to enter from the Israeli border in different points; after breaching the Gaza fence Hamas fighters went to door to door to take Israelis as hostages. On the other hand, thousands of missiles fired from Gaza side to Israel and Israel’s iron dome was collapsed.

Are there any intelligence vulnarabilities for Israel?

In Hamas attack, people started to wonder that whether Israel has any intelligence vulnarabilities or not for that incident. Many OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) sources stated that it is expected due to Jewish Holiday.

Intelligence agencies mostly act pro-active for their homeland security and always warn some other units agains possible threats. On the other hand, after a while those warnings left their place to ignorance due to frequency and accuracy. Moreover, people in public mostly believes that the intel should have come from MOSSAD which is Israel’s Intelligence Agency. Even most of the people believes that job belongs to MOSSAD, the intel should have come from Shin Bet which is Israel’s internal intelligence agency. Aside from that, there have always been sporadic attacks in Israel on special dates. And that increases the predictivity of the attacks especially on 7th Oct. The date clearly chosen spesifically due to its importance. It is based on the same date of Arab attacks on Yom Kippur War on 1973 between Arab-Israel.

Lack of Preparation

The attacks are neither the first nor the last in the history of Israel that’s why Israel needs to be well-prepared against any attacks. Aside from vulnerability of intelligence, there are not prepared agencies internally against any attacks. Shin Bet and even Mossad may fail on intel-side, on the other side IDF (Israel Defence Forces) can not be successful for defending at the beginning. Some media such as videos showing that attacking to outpost, and soldiers withouth equipments, not attacking or not interested with us.

Counteraction

The final problem is counteraction. At the beginning, the attackers did not face with a serious barrier to stop or slow their attacks. On the contrary, they forward easily and without defender. None or very few officers tried to stop the attacks. At least, IDF sent its special forces to the area and started an operation to clear the region.

To summarize; although Israel has a large experience on security, intel was inadequate. Internal security was not prepared well enough and they were late to sent special forces to the region.

All aside, Prime Minister Netanyahu could not act and decide clearly, His descisions were not totally based on defending of people, they were usually based on political anxiety. And so much people rally to protest it and they even wanted Netanyahu to stop counter-attacks to Hamas. In that case, it is expected that there might be protests against Netanyahu or government in the coming months.

Previously known Iran-US Relations

As we follow from international arena, we have already seen different developments between Iran and the US. International arena is already known with those kind of tensions. Especially between the US and Russia, we may also see sometimes Iran or China may have similar tensions between the US. It seems that it is part of political science or kind of international relations case. It may be also a specific case needs to be taken in hand in different style. Some of the developments may indicate us many thing such as political approach or attitude of a state may trigger some much bigger case as we saw in the World War I.

We will try to draw a picture that explains current situation based on recent developments in this article. The case consists of two chapters. First one is death of Soleimani and the second one is shot down of Ukraine aircraft.

Death of Soleimani

Before to summarize the fact, we know that sometimes US indicated Soulemani as a target for itself. However, we are used to those kind of hostile attitudes of US recently.

Qasem Solemani was known as Iranian major general in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). He had significant missions for Iran and moreover according to some sources he was seen as one of future potential leader for Iran.

On 3rd of January, Soleimani was killed by US drone strike near Baghdad International Airport. If we take the situation in hand in different style, we need to indicate that the US had warned its citizens about not to travel in Iran on 26th of December, 2019. Some other resources claimed that the US also have made an travel warning for Iraq but we do not see such as warning among the US’ travel advices. It may not wrong to say that maybe the US had already indicated that it will kill Qasim Soleimani.

That incident was one of the catastrophic incidents a state may face. One state kills another state’s major general in other state. Of course we should accept that if one state acts with its military power as it wishes without giving any details in another state, it means that landowning country lacks sovereignty. It was just like that for Iraq at least. The US didn’t kill just Iran’s general but also its political prestige. But, Iran was gonna give answer to that unexpected incident just as expected.

If we turn back to Soleimani’s death, it is clear that his death took all atention of Iranians. US killed one of major generals of Iran, but also it gives Iranian people a chance to unite against the itself involuntarily. Iran, which has been engaged in protests for a while, united around Soleimani’s funeral. However, that contested advantage situation did not last long. Iran passed to step-2 to take an action after Soleimani’s funeral but it did not happen as expected.

Ukraine Aircraft

Iran gave an answer to the US by firing its missiles targeting some US military bases in Iraq on 8th of January, 2020. Iran stated that approximately 80 American soldier killed in the attack while the US claimed that no one dead but it might be some material damage.

After just hours of Iran attack, international news released breaking news about Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) flight 752 (PS752) was crashed. There were 176 people including the crew in the aircraft. It took attention because it is an aviation crash and it happened just hours after Iran attack.

After crashed of the aircraft, international media sources started to argue about reasons but some of them also indicated that its suspicous timing while they were trying to find association with Iran’s attack. All media outlets focused on the crash and some of airlines started to take precautions regarding the incident. Some airlines such as Lufthansa, Ukraine International Airlines and Air France stopped their flights to Iran-Iraq or using air zone of those countries temporarily.

Iran made a statement that they will not hand over the flight data recorder while they operated remove the wreckage. Iran claimed that they took that decision against any conspiracy theory of CIA or the USA itself. According to Iran, US or CIA could use the incident to decrease Iran’s prestige in international arena.

We need to point that the period with also effects of tech age, developments occur so fast and everything changes in vice versa in hours. Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau made a statement that they had some proofs about Ukraine aircraft incident shows Iran might hit it by mistake. And after hours, there was a video of shooting down of Ukraine aircraft in social media. At last, Iran’s religious leader Hamaney accepted that they shooted down the aircraft by mistake and they will share the flight data recorder with France to make them analyzed. Later, he also apologized from Ukraine and said that they will pay compensation to the families whose people lost their lives in the incident.

Summary

The US killed Iran’s one of major general in another state where is Iraq by drone strike. That incident caused losing prestige pretty much in international arena for Iran.

However, Iranian people united around Soleimani’s funeral so that was a temporarily a good view for Iran. Because even they had a sad incident and they showed all world that they were together, especially while they had struggling protests.

Iran tried to give an answer as possible but they made a huge mistake while they were trying. The incident caused 176 lives loss.

Iran lost prestige against other states, lost significant income based on its air zone and airports due to cancellation of flights or notams about its airside.

Similar situations are also valid for Iraq, some of air carriers took similar precautions for Iraq at least temporarily .

We need to specify that wars or conflicts may bring the actors some advantage such as land, money or power. But it is always temporarily advantage. It clearly seems that coordination, collaboration or mutual agreements between states is more beneficial to make the world better.

In 21st century, people have various different kind of hobies for their daily life. Of course some prefers indoor activities while others choose outdoor. However, in technology era many people mostly men, prefer playing games. Game is an important term in our life right now. But, people think different when time is came for game platforms. Especially when the time for talking about game platforms such as playstation (psn) or xbox.

Except for the pc, there are two platforms: playstation and xbox. Sony is behind of psn while Microsoft is behind xbox. So what is the difference?

First, xbox is cheaper than playstation.

We know a power such as Microsoft behind it, that means it has a good support at back. But, when the point is platform such that, sony was first. Sony, still develops and supports its products.

On the other hand, xbox has limited games according to playstation.

You can even buy psn plus membership so you can take double games free for each month.

If we think about numbers, psn members are more crowded than xbox members. So you can play more games with more friends in sony platform.

We need to notice that; however, sony seems to have more advantages than microsoft. But, some games are special just for xbox. So the best option is actually how you feel it. If you are happy in playstation then it is the best, if you are happy in xbox than it is the best.

In this case there are some critical points to implement that plan like time management, obligate same rules, act together and so on. If all of them start to attack at the same time, with same rules and by coordination they probably win the battle and capture the castle. In this scenery, altough expected end result with success what if they can not act together? For whole life there are always some reasonable actions but also nonsenses. In our scenery if some generals understand the plan worng, or make a time management mistake or worse if they do not comply the plan then falling process will start. Some of army wings attack while some of them not, that is the problem and resulted in lost probably.

How Does That Theory Affect Blockchain System?

In blockchain system as we described before in “what is bitcoin” article, it uses chain system to communicate. If a user carry out a process, it forwards through the chain and reaches end point. All chain members need to make some kind of hash calculations to be integrated to the system. And after that process they would be a part of the system. Think about stock markets, generally all process carry out by individuals but via banks which are official institutions. Sometimes, there may be some fake reactions to engage others and that situation may cause difficult issues. That’s why banks are authorized to get in stock markets by governments, so they could easily control the situation and intervene if it necessary. But, when we have a look at blockchain system that is a disadvantage. If any fake, unreasonable or sabotage acts occur, nobody could intervene and stop. However, there has not been anything like that since blockchain begins.

On the other hand, blockchain defends itself they protect their system by testing each contributor. You can not just be part of the system directly. Firstly, you need to understand the old hash and calculate it by technology you have, you need to add some extra to hash which takes an important time. In this case, it assumed that nobody gives so much time just to occur sabotage or fake act. Blockchain system contributors defends that but nobody could know what will be happen. At least according to Adam Smith’s theory, invisible hand arranges market. You are a part of invisible hand according to that you are safe and dangerous at the same time for blockchain, because there are no any official institution behind this.

1. Prepare a good presentation

First step to parepare a good presentation is powerpoint presentation. Usually, people benefits from powerpoint presentation while they are presenting something. Prepare your powerpoint but do not forget, keep it enough not so long not so short.

2. Avoid text based slides

Most people, especially university student, prepare a good text and pasted it to powerpoint slides. Just try to imagine yourself as a participant, what do you see? You probably see a little image or not and full of text. This is not good for participants, because they can not read all text even they can see because somebody talk at the same time and if they can not see it is worse than first situation.

3. Put impresssive and also remindering images for flash

Instead of putting full text based slides, make it interesting for everyone. Do not make bored participants, do not get yourself into trouble. Full of text means also you may lost wherever you are and if you can’t follow the line you may be probably confused. In this case there would be a lot of silence moments betweeen each slides. For instance, you have just 3 slides and you will present the company’s logo, suggest for a better one. To give examples put a few global great awarded logos in first slide, put your current logo with some signs address negative features of it and last put both together. You may add some reminderin words like “good color” to underscore when the time is come. So you can use your visual imagination to remember words what will you say and impress also participants.

4. Be confident

Many people fed up at the begining. Why do we say ourselves that we can not succeed even we have to do? Be logical, think reasonable, what is the real problem? We call it lack of confidence. The simpliest way of thinking is that: if someone did it, also you can do! Simple, clear and realistic. Humankind is donated with amazing abilities, just believe yourself and act with confidence. You have the power inside.

5. Read additional materials

If you do all steps, you are not ready yet. Those are your guns, but if you do not have bullets you can not fire. You have to have knowledge about a subject you present. If you don’t make a research even a little bit, participants may come upon you. That would be disruptive for anybody. So, try to understand main frame, have an idea about what you present at least google it. But do not forget that, every information you get grom the internet may not be correct, so be sure about your resource also.

6. Never read from a slide or a note

We all knıow that kind of people. When instructors, teachers at school, university or managers in business life want a presentation about something, we face that people who always stand in front of a crowd and start to read from a slide or a note. Even if he has an awesome presentation, it is not good moreover repellent. So what do you do? Remember, other steps. Put a remindering good high quality image, put a remindering word or title near it, just look sometimes at the present and turn participants, start to present. Professionals call it visual memory, discover it.

7. Take your time and use it efficient

Take your time, do not be so quick to finish early or do not last it so long unnecessarily. You need to arrange it well as it must be. You can see if you look at participants while you are presenting whether they are bored or getting more enthusiastic. Sometimes you may have to finish earlier than you think or keep lasting it more than you think. You need to feel it, do not ask how, you will understand when the time is come. Professionals call also this as time management.

8. Gain participants’ support

Think like your listeners, participants. Everybody get bored in time during a presentation. Research show that each people has a different focus time but absolutely it has a limit. So, to keep it under control, you need to take your participants’ support. You could prevent your participants from getting bored. And how you should do it? You need to take their attraction. Some target groups available to ask questions like in universities, schools or situations suitable for more informal relations while some others not like business groups or interview presentations you could use your feelings in those kind of professional moments. For instance, if you present an idea to your manager, implement all the steps but also follow your participants, look at them feel them. If you feel the manager is getting bored, you should skip boring or uninportant parts of presentation quickly and undercore the strong part of your presentation.

9. Make people feel that you are aware and among them

Most intstructors are robots for participants at least they may think like that. Unfortunately, participants may be prejudice before come to presentation. To break that kind of taboos you need to make them feel like you are a person just like them. Not every environments but for many. It commonly may sound sympathetic for participants. Try to read their mind, in each step we suggest you to understand participants but do not forget your focus is presentation, do not exaggerate and exert with people.

10. Take attention, finish well

Last but not least, make your final like a star. When you finish it, nobody should ask a question himself such as what was the point in that presentation. Do not ask for comments or do not force your participants to make a comment it may be disruptive for somebody. If it is awesome, they do say it. Just thank everybody for listening after you finish. However, do not forget that, in many interviews some people may prefer not to say even if you are perfect. In fact, you may think you are not chosen after an interview presentation; but you understand at last you were perfect. Be cool, relax, self-confident and just focus your presentation; the rest would come itself. Follow our Business Life category to improve yourself. Good luck!

What is the reason of the operation?

As it is known, Syria has some internal conflicts in its own management. While Bassar al-Assad is trying to control his land, many divided groups also tries the same. One of them is PYD that is (Democratic Union Party) in Syria. PYD is a political side of Kurdish people. On the other side we have also YPG (Populist Protection Units) in Syria which is armed wing of PYD. There are also DAESH terror group in that region which tries to control also Iraq and Syria territories by triggering different kind of actions. Among those terrorist groups we could say Olive Branch Operation aims to eliminate those terror groups primarily.

Some states are in that region by act and also try to protect Syria’s territorial integrity. Russia and China mostly would like to protect its integrity, since an internal conflict has been occurred. And USA aims to fight with DAESH in that region. In this case, United Nations allies organized a few air attacks against that terrorist group on those territories but none of them implement a land operation. Because to make something, it could cost more than finance such as loss of own citizens in operations with prestige and etc. Finally, USA made some statements that it would help and train YPG against DAESH. However, they defend their ideaİ; they claimed that it is very innocent idea to use YPG against DAESH on land operations.

Beyond the Border

As far as we know, YPG is also wing of PKK indirectly. Because PYD is a deployed wing of PKK in Syria which makes YPG also a wing of PKK directly. Turkey, expressed its concerns on that issue many times to USA and that situation makes each state such a polar. In this case, we have to determine that there are many different news about what kind of war crimes PYD/YPG did or what kind of unlawful interventions occurred by them to the region’s people. There have been many news about USA’s aid to PYD/YPG units in international media outlets, although USA refused them all each time. So, Turkey warned its ally USA many times about that subject.

Map Image is taken from: https://www.trtworld.com/mea/turkey-s-afrin-operation-the-latest-updates-14443

How did the operation begin?

The region beyond the border of Turkey is dangerous even it is Syria’s territory, as Syria can not control it and govern it. Each time Turkey blamed USA by making aid to its enemies PKK, it refused all accusations and advocated that it just help other ingredients except for PKK and defend also its weapons are not gonna use against Turkey. However, USA is sure with that idea and believe, nobody can be sure especially for a group even it has some directly connections with PKK.

Finally, USA decide to create a border power to protect borders against DAESH militants and terrorist activities; but it forgot something that you can not destroy your enemy by another enemy. Probably USA confused, because as we all the simpliest discipline that “enemy of enemy is mine friend” is not available in that scenario. By right, Turkey warned one more time that it does not want any terror groups in or beyond its borders, furthermore there are many attacks came from other side of the border in history. That is how Operation Olive Branch started. Turkey said it a few times as a warning but nothing changed, but all states respect its actions on that issue. So, in the night of 20th of January, Turkish jets flew beyond the border and started to bomb YPG targets, Operation Olive Branch has started.

How has the operation been progressed?

Operation Olive Branch has started by Turkish jets’ bombings in first night. After bombing all the targets for a while they let Free Syrian Army forward through Afrin. Then, Turkish Army Force entered the region and started to take region’s villages one by one. We could see Turkey has a few point to forward march according to map above, so there will be probably a few hallway to enter the region and take control. As understood, Turkey has taken control of villages where they pass through and left FSA (Free Syrian Army) members as guards in the village.

International Reactions

Some states decided to stay neutral against Turkey’s operation at the beginning while some’s not. France call NATO for United Nations Security Council immediately in the frame of Operation Olive Branch. Turkish diplomats are also doing their best to explain the real and transparent ways of operation. They contact with everybody and try to use every diplomatic channel to be honest. On the other hand, NATO made a statement by remindering that every NATO member has a right to protect its borders. Turkey, informed all of its allies and seems like know how to play the game by obeying all the rules.

One of major actors in the region, Russia, claimed that the USA tested Turkey’s passion and limits. Therefore, Turkey chose that option olive branch as last but without any hesitation in international arena. At the beginning; the USA was not so soft agains the operation but after a while they have made soften their ideas by expressing that they have also respect agains Turkey’s concerns in the region. Syria sees that action as intervention to its internal issues and tries to show dissatisfaction. But, we know it also can not govern its some regions where operation is occurred. Turkey also made some statements about their concern and targets; as we understand, they are not planning to stay in those lands. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that they are not interested in stay in those lands. Their main target is just to clean region from terrorist activities.

What is expected at the end of the operation?

In the short term, we could not make clear assumptions in that scenario. But, in the long term, if everything goes well and without any contrariety, Turkey will probably clear the area it would like to. After cleaning it will probably provide safety and security in that region and after all would turn back to its borders. To prevent the second time like that scenario, sides may make an agreement on that issue by a resolution like cleared zone, safe-secure hallway or other options.

We know some states were colonial or aimed different gainings in foreigner landings, but Turkey has a cleared history for that. Furthermore, it may sound ironical but with its name, operation olive branch reflects its focus. Olive Branch is a symbol to show everybody they are doing something for peace, that is really an important point.

What is Bitcoin?

Bitcoin, with its short code BTC, is an electronic money unit which is not belong to any central bank, state or official institution. It has been the most used money unit in deep web. BTC could be seperated after comma to 100 million digits. It started with a manifesto on 3rd January 2009 written by Satoshi Nakamoto. It is not produced from a center, it has a kind of network such as bittorrent networks. So, any payments occcured in the network reach other point at the moment.

All gathered logs kept in the structure named block. A high-level process requires hash, implemented on each block and it is wanted to find a statement beginning with a 0 number to create 1 bitcoin. Approximately 10 minutes process would be begin like this and first user who executes that process would be rewarded with 50 BTC, and with each 210 thousand blocks that prize decreased its half (now it is 25 bitcoin BTC).

Each block contains before’s hash algorithm. So, it would be a blockchain technology which is difficult to be corrupted. Aim behind that technology is to keep send process registered and prevent double process.

Bitcoin’s price is determined by supplies and demands in the market. When demands increased, price increases. When demands decreased, price decreases. There are limited bitcoins in circulation and there is a procedure and a limit to produce BTC.

What is Mining? How could you gain BTC?

Gaining BTC process is named via mining. Basically, you need to download a program on your computer to calculate hash algorithm and find new formula, so you would be rewarded and gain bitcoin. The most common ways are using high-hardware computers’ cpu’s or high-featured graphic card’s cpu’s to calculate algorithm, however there are also some firms give you chance to rent a high-technology devices for mining because first step costs much more a little bit.

Advice

Bitcoin without any official institution support might be dangerous in long term even if it is suitable for gaining in short term. Our advice is to divert stock market more than btc market, in this case you could follow our finance category.

Abstract

When states act, they generally focus on their interests for their existence in political area. They have some goals and different actors are effective in their deciding processes. Deciding process of states change but generally remains in the same patterns in spite of different actors and places. Those deciding patterns contain states’ aims and interests. Russia is one of major country among the states. In this article, Russia’s goals and gains from the Georgian War in 2008 will be analyzed. Those analyzes cover the period from beginning of the war to its consequences.

Beginning of the War

War needs to be analyzed deeper according to both sides’ views. Of course there is much more in the background and it is more than a war. In that point, we could point that conflict between Georgia and Ossetia relations getting worse in 90’s. With falling of USSR, Georgia couldn’t profit by USSR’s economic and political union anymore. After 1991, Georgia was affected negatively from that situation as economic and political. The situation was getting intensified by the time. So, Ossetians lose their belief about improving Georgia’s situation. And also Ossetians, believed that politics were not enough in Georgia and they could solve the problems with their local politicians. Their belief got strengthened with nationalist and separatist feelings by the time. In 91’s last days those conflicts turned into hot clashes. In 1992 those clashes continued and then both sides Ossetians and Georgian administration decide to ceasefire and after ceasefire agreement signed a peace force which contains Russians, Ossetians and Georgians were located at the area.[1]

After Rose Revolution in 2003, Mikheil Saakashvili became Georgia President. As a president, he immediately started to unite Georgia and take control of Abkhazia to keep the state as unitary. It was look like he needed to solve that problem in its internal affairs but he avoided Russia’s pressure and he also needed help to overcome that issue. So help means that the issue would not be internal anymore. And he tried to get help from NATO by applying, that action realized as threatening pace force contains Russian soldiers, and Tbilisi’s new approach to Ossetia didn’t get so good.

Russia changed its looking to Ossetia after Saakashvili’s move. Saakashvili’s western politics took Russia’s attraction more to Ossetia. Another hot clashes developed in 2004 summer and in Russia’s belief it was the time to decide whether to against Georgia or vice versa, because of Georgia’s western politics Russia chose to be against that politics and Russian National Parliament signed some treaties support Ossetian and Abkhazian freedom movements. Of course we could look from another point to that issue for Russia, we know Ossetians live in the Caucasus, speak Osetian and Russian as secondary language and their population is about 700.000; they are an ethnic group. South Ossetia is in Georgian borders, covered by Georgia from three sides and it has just one connection with Russia directly from its North. In this case, we need to point that area has natural resources like oil and gas. Those resources may be noted by Russia. Areas like that has natural resources always would be conflict material for the state has right to governance it and the others which is neighbor of that state and have transfer ways. That natural resources issue may contribute Russia’s attraction to that area.

7th of August in 2008, Georgia attacked Ossetia from ground and air. Georgia made that move because of Russia’s soldier forwarding to that area just before the August. So, Russia claimed that its citizens lived that region and its soldiers as peace force there were endangered because of Georgia and acted against Georgia strongly and immediately. Abkhazia joined that clash which is one of major among the others between the 7th-16th of August near Russia. In that situation Georgia withdrew its army from Ossetia lands but Russia was going on its forward in spite of Georgia’s withdraw till Sarkozy Plan of France signed on the 16th of August. In Sarkozy Plan frame, Russia also withdrew its army and recognizes South Ossetia and Abkhazia as freedom states but Russia is still going on its military workings in those countries.[2]

Consequences: Goals versus Gains

Russia’s movement and aggression on that war could be explained with “Kill the chicken to scare the monkey” [3] as the simplest way, because that aggression also sends signals to Ukraine and other states. Russia has imposed its hegemony in each opportunity and influence the zone. Sarkozy Plan aimed to return both sides before their clashes, but there were no any articles about Russia’s peace force; so Russia army is still existed in Abkhazia and Ossetia. That means Russia is going on its affecting policies. Russia would open a debate to Kosovo’s situation by recognize Ossetia and Abkhazia as symbolic.[4] In that way, Russia shows how to make annexation or independence with using IPC (International Penalty Court) by pointing Kosovo sample.[5]

I would like to mention today about a smart wristband which is made by Xiaomi company. I need to say that I am really addictive on those kind of smart technological tools and I love to use them in my daily life. I think life is getting easier day by day because of those smart tools, and as contrary of many I think we need to get integrated into a life more technological.

When I went to Hong Kong, I feel like I am in paradise in earth. If you are addicted to technology like me, you must go Hong Kong absolutely. If you have chance to go Hong Kong, do not forget to see Shenzen area near Sham Shui Po (If I remember right).

I realized Xiaomi Mi Band 2 Smart Wristband on show window while I was touring golden bazaar in Shenzen area. I know its price more or less in Turkey nearly 32 USD, but it was 21 USD in Hong Kong. So I decided to buy it and did so. It is nearly half a year and now I am really happy with that wristband.

What is Xiaomi Mi Band-2 Smart Wristband Exactly?

It is not a smart watch, note that. It is just a wristband, it looks at least but actually it is more than it.

What kind of features it has?

It has a few functions, however all of them are useful. I do not want to mention about teorical functions like it has a good design for sportive or casual wearings or something else like that, I would like to mention you about it is realistic functions.

1. Date, time, day function
As almost all technological devices, it also has the function to show date, time and day.

2. Calorie calculation
It calculates how much calorie you lost in a day by considering steps.

3. Step calculator
It counts all your steps in a day

4. Heart rate monitor
It can measure your heart rate

5. Sleep analysis
That one is one of my favourite feature in that band, unbelievable but amazing. It keeps the statictics of your sleeping time. You could get reminder every morning when you wake up and connect the device, so you can see your sleep time analysis like how much time you sleep well or how much time you sleep deep. I personally tested it, I have used and seen that it’s accuracy is too high.

6. Long-time battery life
I think that is the second of my most favourite features. You could charge the device by a short cable from your computer usb hub in a 2 hour likely. After you charged it full, it would have 20 days of waiting duration.

7. Changeable cord
That one makes it stronger. Except for its technological features, accessory features are also important. It has different kind of color for cord, you can buy a cord and change it. I suggest you to start with black.

8. Alarm function with buzzing
It may be its best feature. You can set up an alarm by mobile application interface. When the time is come it starts buzzing. Good way to wake up hah.

9. Notification function with buzzing
You can take all of your notifications from your mobile phone like smart watch but with some differences. You can not look and learn details of notification. For instance, if you have a whatsapp message, your wristband buzz and you see a whatsapp icon on your wristband display, that’s all.

10. Move time reminder
It has a feature that normally disabled, but you can enable. It is mostly for office employees probably, if you sit and work more than a limited time it buzz and remind you to move for your health.

Mobile Application and Account and Other Features
It has a mobile application. So you can see and control all features like upside. And so many others waiting to be discovered.

Today’s world is growing faster by technology and also new methodologies around business. These new thesis and methodologies helps business organizations especially in their developing process. As we know all organizations need to develop while the world is changing. Because changing is only thing never changes. In that case, strategic management is mostly used in business area to adopt changing world’s conditions and make sustainable development to be in the area all the time.

What is Strategic Management ?

Strategic Management consists of two words strategy and management. Strategy represents a word means a policy, a way to be lead, a long-term plan. We may call each decisions as one of strategy, and more we may say strategy is not used just in business. And we cannot describe management without strategy word. Because management is take the lead in a topic by decisions as a part of strategy.

We would have described strategic management by describing strategy and management words separately. And if we get them together as a whole, we may see the importance of strategic management and we may have the power to lead, to gain and more even what we need especially in business area.

Where Do We Use Strategic Management ?

Organizations try to be leader in the market for the sake of their selves. They always aim to gain more protect their current profit. Sometimes to protect current profit, to make it higher or to protect organization’s ranking in the market all the organizations need a strategy to be managed by their managers.

A lot of managers owe their success in their field to strategic management. Professionals always use that modern methodology to be successful and they succeed when they use it correctly.
Key Concepts for Strategic Management and Organizational Goals

Strategic management is a special method needs attention more than usual and takes time to take it hand as a whole. To understand and execute strategic management very well we need to know all parts of strategic management like what are the key concepts ? What are the stages ?

Key concepts are really important during the process we try to be successful by our strategic management. We may describe them as steps of strategy while we manage in the process.

Goal Setting

First key concept is goal setting in strategic management. Organizations may have some aims like to protect current profit, to make profit higher than current one, to be leader in the market, to protect its current situation in the market or to try to sustainable development.

Goal setting means setting specific targets to meet with them. All organizations aim to have something by taking some decisions in the beginning of their strategic management. To set a goal helps strategic management to be developed. Employees would know what they have to do or what are they doing to reach their goals. Also manager would have known what he has to do to meet with organization’s goal and could do some plans according to those goals.

Organizations could plan what they will do to meet with their goal by strategic decisions such as what they will prepare for advertisement or what kind of policy they will accept to improve their marketing skills.

If we try to give an example for that from beginning till the end, we could take an organization to our hand as an example. Just imagine that organization wants to be successful in its field. Its manager also wants to be successful in their field as an manager, an employee and also as the organization itself. So manager chooses using strategic management as a method to be successful. That manager will set a goal as a first step for his strategy so that he could make organization’s aims clear, employees willing, policy-strategy or way clear to make a plan in the future by taking those goals in hand seriously.

As we see in that example; goal setting helps strategic management’s next steps to make this strategy sustainable in organization’s future. Employees could know what they do and what they have to do, managers would have known their responsibilities so the organization could take the lead in their way stable.

Analysis Strategy Formation

Many academic resources claims that analyzing is first step in strategic management. Making analyzing helps to understand environment clearly. If an organization has some aims to reach, that organization has to do some researches or analyzes first about environment in the beginning. Especially SWOT analysis is the most important point here in terms of strategic management concepts. As we all know SWOT analysis consists of organization’s strengths (what is the organization’s power), weakness (what is that lack in the organization i.e. skills or something else), Opportunities (while leading the way in strategic management what kind of chances the organization will have or miss), threats (what kind of risks the organization might have while leading the way in strategic management) and more. By that way, the organizations would have known environment, try to make a plan as understand.

You have to plan carefully if you want to use strategic management as a method. And if you want to plan carefully to use strategic management, you have to make some analysis and researches about your environment and all other thinks related your topic first. As you see this is a chain-style but we may say the most important point in the chain.

Forecasting

Forecasting is different than others, because you use them in some terms but you have to use forecasting during the process.

Even if you haven’t made analysis yet, you must predict something could happen and evaluate possibilities you might face during the process.

You set your goal, make some analysis and even you might have planned your way but it hasn’t finished yet. While you’re monitoring the process you have to forecast all the possibilities. You may face some problems or other opportunities. In that case you may need to change your strategy by making another plan or maybe you will make little changes in your plan to change the situation. Thinking all the possibilities and being ready for all the negative and positive possibilities makes you a good manager so the organization could have its goals more clearly.

Strategic Planning

Planning is to turn theoretical works into practical implementations. In another hand, what kind of a method the organization’s manager will lead (i.e. what kind of resources organization will use, how many employees will be needed, which field of market they think to introduce etc.)

We’re starting to use strategic management slowly. First, we set some goals for our organization and then made some analysis about environment we have and think about. After forecasting we would have calculated some possibilities we may have, now it’s planning turn. By care, making plan and determine the way we will lead helps us in our strategic management process.

Planning is the core of strategic management. Because planning covers all the process and includes all the steps will be. A good plan, a good planning means a good strategy, a good management. It is possible to follow the way without any plans. All organizations and their managers need a plan to understand and make strategy clear in their strategic management process.

Strategy Formation

One of strategic management concept is strategy formation we need to mention about it while we’re discussing. That concept helps to develop some specific actions in Strategy during the management process.

Strategy Formation is that about making some decisions by considering statistics, analysis made and information had. Manager could address key issues by benefit of this strategy formation to face with problems the organization could face during the whole process. We could say simply it is about the way we decide, the way we work, the way we think. Through strategy formulation an organization seeks to find ways of maximizing profitability and maintaining a competitive advantage. Of course all organizations aim that first like others all we know what they need (i.e. to survive in the market, to maximize their profit, to protect their current income, to reduce their outcome, to save their money, to invest some developments for their selves and etc.).

All organizations would like to maintain competitive advantage. Aims could be specific but all of them turn around this issue. They take themselves as core of their ideas. It is normal for all organizations, and in that case all the organizations need to care about issues and follow some formulas to solve them correctly. To complete strategic management they need to formulate their strategy.

Strategy Implementation

Implementation is a fateful point in strategic management and also an important concept we need to mention. You could make ready all the concepts from the beginning till here but you cannot implement your strategy unless you don’t actualize that step.

Strategy implementation is putting actual strategy into practice to reach organization’s goals in your management process. We could say that the point is that to gather all the resources you could reach for your organization and to use them to implement your strategies by creating financial programs, analyzing other resources, considering steps would use and developing processes in management.

In short all things you do could be the part of implementation. What you do as you plan or not, what you think according to your goals, what kind of decision you will do in your management process could be your implementation steps.

Implementation also needs to be synchronous as all in organization. Staff should be willing in that process so that manager or organization could meet with goals set in the beginning of the process. Implementation includes real actions, taking a role in the process by making decisions and leading policy with strategy.

Strategy Monitoring

We could call that “the last step in circular strategic management diagram”. When we have a look all the process we have till here; we put some goals in front of us to reach, made analysis to consider environment where we are, forecast about what will happen or what might be happen before, after or even during the process, made plan about steps we will implement, implement formation to formulate our plan and as the last we implement our strategy. Here is turn to monitoring: You must monitoring your all process to be successful. Monitoring means taking all the process under control to interfere and interfere if it is necessary.

By monitoring, organization could change its strategy for a moment during the process it will be need. It’s about action and reaction so organization knows it is right plan or not. Even if it is right plan we might need to make little changes in the plan, or it could be wrong plan and we might need to change the whole plan if it is necessary.
